This script hosts a peculiarium of history. According to West 2021 the plethora of scripts in the island of Java were likely used in the differentiation of language amongst language groups and that apart from being encodings for languages they were also sociopolitical products. The scripts of Java are peculiar in this way as while Java writing has a pre-Brahmic developmental history it would be unjust to assert that the Brahmic script did not at any highly influence the style of Java writing systems.
